The countdown to the final event of the 2019 Palm Beach Masters Series® is on, as the Deeridge Derby is just four days away!
Featuring the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, the Deeridge Derby puts the spotlight on the nation’s most elegant and exceptional hunters, along with young jumpers.
Entries for the 2019 Deeridge Derby have been extended. Entries are now open until Tuesday, Feb. 26.
A star-studded cast is lining up, headlined by defending Champions Victoria Colvin and Brad Wolf’s Private Practice. Colvin and Private Practice topped the 2018 $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby at Deeridge before going on to capture the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships. The chestnut gelding was also named the 2018 WCHR Hunter of the Year. The remainder of last year’s top three is also among the early entries. Red Ryder and Hannah Isop, along with Aeroplane and Amy Momrow, will be back to challenge for the title. They’ll be joined by a strong group of new contenders, ridden by the likes of perennial hunter riders Peter Pletcher, Havens Schatt, Liza Boyd, and more.
After topping two CSIO5* classes at the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ USA—the CP Welcome Stake and the NetJets Classic—Ashlee Bond will be back at Deeridge Farms. Young jumper divisions highlight the Deeridge Derby’s Wednesday and Thursday programs, with classes for 5-, 6-, and 7-year-olds worth more than $40,000 in prize money. Paul O’Shea also returns with young jumpers after topping the CSIO5* Longines Grand Prix at Deeridge a fortnight ago, along with Daniel Coyle, winner of the 2018 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Wellington at the Palm Beach Masters Series®.
